Job Description
Greenfield are very happy to be exclusively mandated on a search of Head of Accounting for an established service provider. As the company is growing, they are looking for a Head of Accounting to lead the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of the accounting field both for corporate and fund industry. You would also need to speak French and English.
Your role:
- Management, supervision and monitoring the planning and activities of the team;
- Day-to-day accounting matters including bookkeeping and record filing, for Corporate, Funds, securitisation vehicles and management companies;
- Perform, account for, review and reconcile on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis, all required accruals, investment revaluations, and foreign exchange adjustments of financial fixed assets and securities (equities, bonds, funds, derivatives, money market, unlisted assets, etc), real assets (Buildings, Investment Properties, Motor Vehicles, etc), intercompany accounts, etc.;
- Prepare and review fee calculations (e.g. management fees, performance related fees, administration fees) as well as corporate action (capital calls, distributions, equalization) and the mechanism thereof;
- Responsible for the overview of the production, calculation and checking of the NAV as well as management accounts of portfolio of regulated/non-regulated, stand-alone/multi compartment entities in Structured Product, PE, RE, VC, Debt, infrastructure,etc.;
- Implementing, monitoring and reviewing the periodical NAV and other reporting, financial statements, consolidation reports etc.;
- Ensure that all the accounting standards (i.a. LUX GAAP, …) have been met and any exceptions are properly noted and identified;
- Ensuring timely and correct invoicing, appropriate chargeability level, review of breakdowns as well as cash collection in accordance with the process and procedure;
- Ensuring compliance of the reporting with legal and defined accounting framework, requirements and relevant guidance (LUX GAAP, IFRS, INREV, ALFI, SIF law, SICAR law, RAIF law, LPA, etc);
- Planning of audit processes, maintenance of audit files and communication with auditors;
- Liaison and coordination with the relevant internal and external stakeholders;
- Responsible or assist with direct and indirect tax fillings, regulatory (CSSF and BCL) and ad-hoc reporting for Corporate, Funds, Securitisation vehicles and Management companies;
- Active part in the on-boarding process of new clients, prospect’s due diligence, request for proposal;
- Participation to the monthly management meeting of the company;
- Budget setting-up and analysis, revision of the scope of services and fee arrangements, drafting of operating memorandum and service level agreement;
- Part of the projects such as development and implementation of internal procedures, control system and tools, automation of operating processes and workflows;
- Continuing business development and knowledge management projects.
Your profile:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in similar role (in a Central Administration environment, Big Four or in the fund industry);
- Degree in Economics, Accountant, Finance;
- Fluency in French and English is mandatory (written and spoken), any additional language will be an asset;
- Previous experience in team management;
- Experience in Alternative Investment Funds (PR/RE), Soparfi, …;
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (LUX GAAP, IFRS, Consolidation). Any knowledge/experience on other GAAP or sector’s guidance is an asset;
- Demonstrate experience in Fund Accounting (i.a. REIF, PE Fund, Debt Fund, Liquid Fund);
- Sound knowledge in: custody, transfer agency, fund administration industry, securities administration, corporate actions / ad hoc valuations mechanisms;
- Excellent at planning and understanding future trends and organising oneself accordingly;
- Eye for detail and the flexibility to respond and adapt to changes;
- Soft, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proactive, collective, autonomous and self-motivated;
- Strong business ethic and a distinctive passion in servicing clients;
- Organized & project management skills in order to respect deadlines;
- Drive and committed to excellence; High level of communication skills;
