Based on Belval campus, The Mentoring Program Officer initiates and develops relationships in entrepreneurial, professional, and academic communities, develop resource programs available for students and. entrepreneurs. He/she will be responsible for planning, overseeing, counselling, and evaluating the interaction of entrepreneurs, mentors, experts during careful oriented mentoring sessions.

The University of Luxembourg is laying the foundation of a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem by offering a mentoring service: the “Venture Mentoring Service (VMS)”.  The VMS is a sister program of the prestigious MIT Venture Mentoring Service with a mission to support  students, researches, employees and alumni in the journey of creating a successful business through the power of team mentoring. Our team of highly experienced and motivated professionals volunteer their time to shape a new generation of risk takers. This Venture program is one of the core support programs offered by the University of Luxembourg Incubator and wants to not only leverage the existing Luxembourg ecosystem but place Luxembourg to position itself as a hot entrepreneurial ecosystem and startup nation.

To realize this vision, the University of Luxembourg is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Mentoring Program Officer who will work closely with the team at the University of Luxembourg Incubator and report to the Manager of the Incubator.

Your Role
Your Tasks (non-exhaustive list):

With the support of the Program Administrator you will lead:

– Screen all potential mentor candidates through background checks and interviews
– Identify and match resources (mentor, professional services) to entrepreneurs.
– Organize events and develop/execute the agenda (including the support to prepare all material for mentors/mentees meetings)
– Oversee on-going mentor/mentee relationship

            Periodic mentors meetings feedback/debrief + support
            Manage mentee reporting, periodic face-to-face mentees performance/feedback debrief, providing instruction, advice and encouragement to entrepreneurs.
            Schedule, monitor and participate in team meetings with mentor-mentee when required
– Manage the ongoing development, maintenance, and evaluation of the mentoring program with support of the manager, rectorate and mentors
– Develop new, innovative approaches for the mentoring program to meet the peer support needs of students in various stages of their startup journey;
– Identify opportunities for new and ongoing training and development of mentors based on evidence-based competency models;
– Manage the day-to-day tasks of the various mentoring programs, managing all necessary communications, coordinating schedules for mentees and mentors, and working with the administration team to complete logistical tasks;
– Design, populate and manage the data platform, vms app and infrastructure
– Maintain and expand relationships with Luxembourgish Startup ecosystem and external entrepreneurs Seek out best practices to ensure continual program development, enhancement, and evaluation; support company creation by pointing the right resources with Luxembourgish institutions
– Deliver regular VMS program information and updates to key stakeholders, manager, team members to ensure continued support of the program;
– Manage, coordinate and organize regular mentor and mentee focused events.
– Perform any other tasks as part of the function.

What we expect from you
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Excellent organizational, planning and execution skills (e.g. ability to prioritize tasks)
Relevant work experience in a start-up organization or early stage venture capital firm would be an advantage.
Demonstrated integrity, excellent judgement, confidentiality, and diplomatic skills
Strong communication and relationship management skills 
Ability to develop action plans and drive develop creative and innovative initiatives;
Good computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office;
You’re solution-oriented and have a flexible work approach;
You are passionate about startups, generous, purposeful, problem solver, creative and innovative.
Strong network at the Luxembourgish entrepreneurship ecosystem would be an advantage
